Trite Advice

This is a pleasant naivete to ponder or acclaim:



So reassuringly says Homer to Bart, in the event of failure: 'Thats right, son. Dont try.' - without a hint of dissonance or cynicism. Good Advise comes like John Lennon: 'Black bird singing in the dead of night... take these broken wings and learn to fly... All your life... you were only waiting for this moment to arise!!!'

The AI Analogy is Absurd.

Specifically,the analogy is absurd. The problem is not as much how absurd a situation can arise in ethical technology. There is an expectation on the part of the food to be less sentient in some way that makes their adamance or vehemence a capability exclusive to the diner and not so much to the dinner. Analogously, in the future can we expect people with cleft chins to report to soylent centers?
